I'm in awe of your art and worldbuilding! An aspect I like is that the Birrin technology looks realistic and usable, yet still alien.

Thanks! Yes I want to explore how aliens might really be, if they were around our level of complexity...

It's funny, I made this account to see updates to this, after coming across a link to it on the steam workshop. I've thought about similar stuff to this a lot, but I've never tried to illustrate it for others to see. The part of my name, Wistari, is actually the homeworld-moon of a species I've thought about quite a bit- though nowhere near as long as you have pursued this. I salute you for your determination to continue this project despite life, and aspire to create works as grand as these at some point.

I just went through your whole Birrin gallery and I must say it is simply stunning! Not just by the skill level of the artwork but the fact that you have manged to create an entirely non-humanoid species with a backstory and history of their own, even if that part resembles human society and history a bit. ;)

I am an avid fan of science fiction and have been creating story concepts for a long time now, and always wanted to create non-humaniod organisms that would be reflective of the various world's that they would have evolved on, which should be quite different from ours. They would have different sensory organs, thereby having a completely different perception of reality than ours. :)

Anyway, your work is absolutely superb, great job and keep it coming!

I felt that if I sent their society and tech level TOO far away from our own, I started to care less about them. I wanted to keep enough symbols that we would relate to, while also trying to identify possible universal engineering forms. Also made easier by deciding that their planet is rather a lot like ours.

But you certainly had the imagination to go beyond humanoid aliens that fill our Science Fiction media today and give us something wholly unique! :) I now understand why you chose to draw parallels to our own planet and civilisation, which is quite alright and makes sense. Once again, great job!
