The spirit Tallapunjil spends each rainy season gathering life from the fertile plains; fuel in her attempt at birthing her own Creation. But each year as the rainclouds draw back and the sun bakes the soil, this stillborn Creation, starved and incomplete, releases its energy back into the earth as the fires that mark the beginning of the dry.
Wedge-tailed eagles, which long ago learned of this cycle of gathering and destruction, roost on her ancient body each year to await the birth of fire, and swoop down on the myriad little creatures fleeing the advancing flames.
dear Abiogenesis, i was wondering if i could use this spirit and the alien from your Second Instar peice in project called pantheon. its a short story/art/research project about lesser gods, demons, spirits and extra dimensions on earth. it will be in an almost documentary style with bios and facts about each god.
