Pseudoraptor Mk.2 by Abiogenisis Pseudoraptor Mk.2 by Abiogenisis
(This is an alternative version of the Pseudoraptor [link] incorporating the suggestions received when I submitted the previous version.)

This creature evolved from the same stock as the Birrin [link]

The Pseudoraptor lives on open plains, hunting the grazing creatures that feed on the tough mats of lichen-like creeping plants that cover the surface. Able to tackle a wide range of prey, the Pseudoraptor can bring down much larger animals than itself by latching onto their hides with six re-curved claws at the tips of its four arms. The stalked eyes can retract or in the case of the upper eye fold back so as to avoid damage when fighting or hunting, while the hearing and scent antennae are much reduced and are kept in a protective pouch on each side of the neck.

Great work! You make your aliens look more alien than most other artists, and more believable as well!

I'm confused. If this evolved from the Birrin, then why does it seem more like an uncivilized animal?

It shares a common ancestor with the birrin, but did not evolve from them.

You know Birrin's could possibly exist? The universe is infinite and it's impossible for life to evolve on one single planet. A similar or maybe even exact race of Birrins are possibly guaranteed. Stephen Hawking is even saying that life could evolve on a gas giant. Anyway great drawing! Your aliens are so creative!

It is obvious for me that these predators are not just built for speed, but they can keep going for long distances.
This is because running on two legs is more efficient in the long run than running on four.
This might give me an idea about they hunting technique: they exhaust their prey by chasing them long enough.

And as always, great work Alex! Clap

They can do limited pursuit, though their usual strategy is to close on fast moving prey and swing the arms in wide arcs to trip the creature of its feet.

Ok known that's so awesome !! I really love it, it looks so extraterrestrials yet extremely plausible, and it's design is so cool and I like it's hunting style, quick and effective. Very good job.
