Artist's Comments

(This is an alternative version of the Pseudoraptor [link] incorporating the suggestions received when I submitted the previous version.)

This creature evolved from the same stock as the Birrin [link]

The Pseudoraptor lives on open plains, hunting the grazing creatures that feed on the tough mats of lichen-like creeping plants that cover the surface. Able to tackle a wide range of prey, the Pseudoraptor can bring down much larger animals than itself by latching onto their hides with six re-curved claws at the tips of its four arms. The stalked eyes can retract or in the case of the upper eye fold back so as to avoid damage when fighting or hunting, while the hearing and scent antennae are much reduced and are kept in a protective pouch on each side of the neck.

Nice but add small changes to one of them and split them to two species. Like southern and northern pseudoraptor. It would be better than alternative version of the same creature.

You've certainly come a long way from the original concept, and I think you may finally be able to rest now, knowing you have done a fantastic job making this creature look more organic.

The ridges and lines in the skin make it look tanned and weather-beaten. One can only imagine the harsh conditions it would take to produce that effect. This creature is definitely a well-seasoned hunter, blasted by sandstorms and baked by the sun.

Its skin colors and markings are wonderful. It wouldn't be hard for him to hide out in the open with a color-scheme that matches his surroundings so perfectly.

You've done a fantastic job. The only thing I can say now is that you need to remove the comma from the end of the first link, or it will keep leading to the 404 page.

Thanks, fixed :)

Oh yes, that is BRILLIANT. The creature's weird, but very much alive!

Some measure of camouflage, too.

That was pretty damn quick, but I suppose most of the work was already done. This is going in my favourites pile.

I liked the other version, but I have to say you really made this one s skin look much more organic. It matches the terrain, and looks like something that would naturally evolve(not that the other one didnt). I hope this satisfies those people that found the flesh looking non organic because this is very very amazing. ^^

A favourite means a lot to me: I will *always* have more deviations than favourites.

Don't click on my account. Serously. It's crap. This is not reverse psychology.

Yes, now he looks like he fits in with his environment. The markings on the other version looked cool, but inappropriate. Beautiful work, as always.
