Pseudoraptor by Abiogenisis Pseudoraptor by Abiogenisis
(Updated from older version)

This creature evolved from the same stock as the Birrin [link]

The Pseudoraptor lives on open plains, hunting the grazing creatures that feed on the tough mats of lichen-like creeping plants that cover the surface. Able to tackle a wide range of prey, the Pseudoraptor can bring down much larger animals than itself by latching onto their hides with six re-curved claws at the tips of its four arms. The stalked eyes can retract or in the case of the upper eye fold back so as to avoid damage when fighting or hunting, while the hearing and scent antennae are much reduced and are kept in a protective pouch on each side of the neck.

Truly beautiful design and execution. I stared at this and the variant for quite some time and I really can't decide which I prefer. Amazing.

Looks like a mutant, semi-cyborg ostrich (laughs!) but cool, really good.
Birrin is your planet, eh....? I don't like to create intelligent life on any worlds, cuz I know dat they'll soon end up like dear little old Earth

Awesome! I like this one better than Pseudoraptor Mk.2. Pseudoraptor Mk.2 looks more like a caterpillar.

The way it's legs and arms are design is awesome. If you were to make an anatomy of this Pseudoraptor would it have like two hocks or something?

Very cool feet!

I had to look twice.. no third to realize it's not a raptor, the brain is suggesting a tail, eyes in the head, claws etc...

Great piece

Hmm. it seems to me the way his arms are folded are a technique used so prey cannot determine its reach, and know a dafe distance. Also, the shape of the foot and leg structure looks like it would help in jumping great distances, and moving at a very effective pace. still, i would like to know more about their though process and social activity.

I think the odd blue stripe colouring is what makes this look slightly machine-like.

Aside from that, this looks really stunning. I can't believe the thought process you put into it. Look at those creepy feet! I'd hate to come across those tracks.

The only thing I would add to :iconcatch878:iconcatch878:'s comment is:

The blue is too crisp and angular. The darker border around the blue portions also makes it look like it was painted on in those specific locations. You know? I think the skin, overall, has too much 'human-intention' and not enough natural lines. I'm not making much sense.. am I?

The movement and the pose are just right. The only thing you could possibly edit are the colors- and only if you REALLY. REALLY. REALLY feel like it.

Personally I find them less appealing but don't let people mess to much with your head, do what seems right.

i dont understand why you change this only because people dont like it

they are aliens, organic life forms, that are different of what we know
