It's funny how The Golden Orb is like the scariest looking spider out there yet that are mostly harmless.

I think if aliens do exist, that there would be spider like creatures.

I think worms would be everywhere since they're so simple.

Really awesome!
I love seeing your real creature work too.
Very accurate, comparing it back and forth with the ref that rubbe linked to. As soon as I saw it, I thought it must be from a photo ref, just because the way the shadow was cast is so familiar to how I know the camera flash does with things like that. :D

Yeah, that brings back memories. Huge nets of Nephila clavipes in southeast Texas, every night, while walking...above, to the sides, everywhere. An arachnophobe's worst nightmare. I loved it.

And I certainly don't mind your live Earth animal arts. Nothing like practice that turns into eye candy.

Man I simply love the way you work, the colours, the attention to details, and the form are just spot on! I see you've even managed to draw in the detailed textures on the spider's "abdomen"(sorry I'm not familiar with arachnid anatomy), just wow!

That looks great, take your time with the real creatures. They are beautifull, too.
But maybe you want to draw real animals that are so little that we can't see them (like this [link] ;) )

I love those spiders, they're one of my favorite kinds. I always seem to end up doodling spiders when I'm happy, for me they seem to be a very happy symbol, especially the Salties, the jumping spiders.
As to the picture: bloody brilliant, is all I can say. great job on the hairs, that looks like it was fiddly.
