If you haven't played Subnautica you'd like it based on this art.

I'm noticing anatomical differences between the large animal in the front and the one in the back. I presume these are different species?

Exquisite! It really looks like a 'grown-up version' of those critters from the Burgess Shale.

Wow, cool and creepy all at the same time. (Kind of reminds me of a girl I went out with once. Seemed she kissed like that things mouth looks.)
Good Job

bodies seem heavily segmented for a "streamlined" species, it does look cool however

the tongue-mouth is useful for hunting in corral-crack crab-hunts , i asume

great lighting effects on the creatures

great work if i saw this in the news as "newly discover ancient fish" i would totaly belive it happen

the most wierd thing to me is the single eye(wich is probably the first mutation it would go tru is you put it in earths oceans)

wierd what choughts your eye

Yeah single central eyes are pretty rare, though I know at least one creature: the tiny crustacean Cyclops

Would this be a problem for depth perception?
Reply
:iconabiogenisis:
Abiogenisis Featured By Owner Jun 5, 2016  Professional Digital Artist
I would say it would cause serious depth perception problems, so it is probably only used to detect light levels and motion, while tactile sensors take care of the rest

Depth perception happens when the visual field of the eyes overlap.
You are basically watching an object from two different angles and thus can judge the distance of the object.

So without a second eye there would be no depth perception.
Don't know how that works with the compound eyes of Arthropods though

Or maybe not. I mean, I think dolphins are cute!
