You artwork - even in pencil - is always so crisp! Do you have a book to teach us? Or a website?

Flying saucer attack!! :+favlove: So, do aliens use flying saucers because they are more advanced- perhaps because flying saucers use some sort of "field propulsion" or antigravity instead of a rocket jet- or do they just fly in metallic saucers because they think they look cool? Either way, it seems to be a case of mutual destruction for the rocket and the saucer- the rocket has been speared by an alien death beam, but the rocket's ray beam has cut into the saucer. I love the retro ray-beam emitter on the rocket...

Ha I think they probably use saucers because that form has become part of the mythology now. I dont think there is any good reason for a saucer shape vehicle really.

Flying saucers were portrayed as incredibly advanced alien craft in SF from the 50's and 60's, with all sorts of marvels like electromagnetic field drives, FTL engines, death ray projectors, tractor beams, and so on. Aliens used them, mostly, while humans often used rocket ships. Sometimes, humans got flying saucers like G. Harry Stine's Vittoria- originally presented Lee Correy's 1954 novel Starship Through Space- and the United Planets Cruiser C571-D from Forbidden Planet. To people in the 50's and 60's, a flying saucer was clearly an incredibly advanced spacecraft- what else could a future human starship possibly look like? :) Aliens who possess electromagnetic "field drives" could probably fly a brick, so maybe they like saucers because they think they look cool. Personally, I would also experiment with triangular hulls, square hulls, cubes, spheres, cones, and pyramids.

Dear God, Neptune's Pride? The game that's swallowed my soul and obliterated my morality on more than one occasion? I have no idea what these illustrations signify for the game itself, but I'm very much intrigued.

Excioellent job, you pulled of a great retro style, and the detail and shading you managed were nice. The buyer definately got their money. now if you'll excuse me I have to go dig in the sofa to see if i can round up some money,
