Birrin Head Sketchesby *Abiogenisis

My infrequent updates have been due to an injured hand, and working on a sculpture of a Birrin [link] which is taking and EXTRAORDINARY amount of time. These head sketches are part of the planning process for the sculpture, and possibly the Birrin in later illustrations.

Within a few weeks I should be back to regular levels of production.

These were old tests to see if I could re-design the birrin head. Might use them in the future for different creatures.

good luck and godspeed on the sculpture, i wish you a fast recovery! i really dig your stuff, and don't worry about the similarities, those who know, know you've been working on this stuff long before exposure to any of the star trek images, and the similarities aren't close enough to warrant any copyright infringement.

it just sucks to see a design that has resemblances to yours, but take heart with the fact that you were "scooped" by a talented cat who gets paid big bucks to do what he does (and at least you didn't have to look at hundreds of pictures of prolapsed rectums to come up with the mouth)... seems like you're on the right track

I don't know what this is supposed to be, but the one on the far left looks most like it could be a natural organism. The one on the bottom is next - but only if it were very small.
