Artist's Comments

An illustration of an experiment conducted by Human and MSI scientists to determine how the young of their species interact: The neural interface cables can read and manipulate both species' brain activity, and through them researchers hope to build up an interaction database of their two species, to help them design a future joint race interstellar colony.

I have not done line art for a while, so enjoy the change :)

Great as usual. I really like the idea of an alien species that has an acronym as its name. It suggests that their own language is so unpronounceable by humans that we need to invent a name for them. By the way, what does MSI stand for?

Crazy stuff! Really enjoy your concepts and how you build so much plausibility into your designs. Great stuff!

this is so truly refreshing.... after having seen avatar (which i DID enjoy a lot) this seems so indescribably much more possible. i wish there was more of your kind and that the mass market at which anything really fancy has to be aimed at wasn't so naive, oafish and silly. good god, let there be video games and movies that embrace this universe of yours...

avatar is oh so pretty but i doubt i'm the only one who wonders why those blue "men" and "women" (which is odd in the first place) look almost identical to humans. we've seen that a gazillion times now. do we really need that shape that resembles our own in order to feel with someone? maybe we do but it makes me feel ashamed about ourselves... man, even in district 9 they didn't have the guts to actually make the aliens alien to us. they actually did have to give them the very same facial expressions as ours. they did have to actually look sad for the dumb folks to actually feel sorry for them...

i really enjoy this vision of yours and hope one day something truly as groundbreaking as this makes it into one of the big hollywood productions. it's sad to see that actual believability and great (since expensive) visuals seem to be mutually exclusive.

maybe i need to get out there and make those movies and games...

Very interesting and very practical because comminacution is going to be very important when interacting with other speices.

Wait! Wait!

Why does the human child have only four fingers!

Either way, your art and inspiring creativity are amazing. Is there a database or cache of information that can give me greater details on the MSI?

it's a perspective thing. you don't see it. it's still there.

I suspected as much. I only said that for comedic effect.
Seeing how well you illustrate I doubt something as significant as a number of digits would eldue you.

Intreging. I like it.
I can imagine the MSI attempting to gently take the toy from the child, then the child refusing to let go, then a mighty battle of Jug-of-War! :evillaugh:

I love it :) Totally different take on human-alien interaction (compared to the usually violent and aggressive one =p)
